Entry to this show could take a lesson from customs
1. No cell phones. But mobile ticket which can't be converted back to a printed ticket. 2. Show time 9:30. Arrive 9:15. Wait outside in a line around the block until almost 10. Herded along with the entire population of ticket holders into the basement where we go through security and get out mobile ticket scanned. Go to line for water where they've screwed up so eons charge and he can't take our cash until this transaction is finished. Go to a dude who is literally hand-writing our seat details on a tiny piece of paper. Go to another dude who is just handing out bags for cell phones - no instructions. Find our seats. Ask about the location of the loo - go back down into the basement and wait in line to pee with all the other women who have been waiting on the street for the past :45 min. Walk back up stairs to find seats. Show opener wrapping up - what? When did he start? 9:30-when we were all still outside? Theatre dark. Find row, can't read seat numbers and can't use light on phone cuz bag. And no ushers in sight. I just sit. Ali starts well after 10pm and people are still coming in - distracting. She says some things but I am so pissed off and distracted by people trying to find seats it took me 10 minutes to even hear what she was saying. So - we missed a great holiday party to hear about 40 minutes of comedy and laughed out loud twice.
